Testimonials

Hydraguard fitting after 10 years in service, 3 July 2021

“I haven't written any report but I've been monitoring the ant-prone hydrants for a couple of years where the Retroguard boot was already installed. Once it was installed, I never saw any problem with ants in that hydrant again.”

Sagar Khadka, Asset Management Engineer, ACTEW (Icon Water)
Case study

One fitting, monitored over 10 years

This hydrant was looked after by a Community Fire Unit (CFU), who used to call three to four times a year about ant build-up. Since a Hydraguard was installed as a trial on 7 March 2011, there has been no repeat ant dirt problem. The photo below, taken exactly 10 years later, is the same fitting.
